Tobore’s Story

Tobore's Journey

Tobore is a lively 10 year old boy from Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, who dreams of becoming a doctor someday. He loves playing with his toy cars, munching on his favorite meal of beans with plantains, and watching cartoons like PJ Masks and Superman. His passion for mathematics keeps his mind sharp, and he has a strong dislike for dirty environments.

Tobore’s life took an unexpected turn when he started experiencing severe headaches and stomach pain. His parents initially took him to a hospital in Warri, where tests revealed he had medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor. Tobore underwent surgery, but unfortunately, the tumor relapsed, leading his family to seek further treatment in Lagos.

It was during one of The Dorcas Cancer Foundation’s weekly ward visits that Tobore’s family connected with the foundation’s team. With the help of generous sponsors, Tobore began receiving the proper treatment he needed. He has since undergone a series of tests and treatments, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

While Tobore is still undergoing treatment, he is responding well, showing his resilience and determination every day. His family is deeply grateful to everyone who has supported them during this challenging time.

Tobore continues to dream of the day he’ll put on a doctor’s coat and help others, just as he has been helped. For now, he’s focused on his recovery, enjoying his toy cars, and, of course, staying on top of his math homework.
