Children Cancer Journey: Shedrack

Shedrack’s Cancer Journey

Shedrack (4 years old) loves to watch SpongeBob Square pants and PJ Masks. His favorite character is Cat Boy because “he is always of the leader”. When Shedrack’s right eye started to swell, his parents took him to a hospital where he was treated for an eye infection. This went on for months before he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Right eye in September 2017.

Shedrack has been through countless scans, blood tests, doctor visits, surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Shedrack’s father has spent his entire life savings on his son’s cancer treatment, and yet the journey is far from over. He believes in his son and is willing to do anything and everything he can to save Shedrack’s life. Shedrack is a fighter, just like his dad. He has been able to fight to this point and is still fighting.

Shedrack loves his father and would love to stay in school and study his best subject “English”. His favorite food is beans and bread, but he rarely has any appetite to eat these days.
